Ten years ago, on 28 February 2008, a unique “I Choose to Teach!” programme was launched in Lithuania. Its goal was to encourage the best graduates of Lithuanian universities to become teachers in the schools of the country. During this period, 118 young people tried a teacher’s job, worked in 78 schools for two years throughout Lithuania and reached more than 26,000 students. In 2017, “Vilniaus prekybos paramos fondas DABAR” became the main partner of “I Choose to Teach – For Changes in Schools”
The “I Choose to Teach!” programme is a member of the worldwide network “Teach For All”. “Teach For All” unites similar programmes in 47 countries all over the world. The main mission of these programmes is to enable all children to receive the best possible education in spite of social barriers.
